Note: This denim contains spandex/elastane. Please avoid chlorine bleach and high-temperature washing or drying, as excessive heat may damage the fabric’s elasticity. This is a one-wash raw denim style that has already undergone an initial rinse/desizing process. As a result, slight shrinkage wrinkles may be present, along with minor fading around areas such as the waistband or leg openings caused by natural washing-machine friction. These are normal characteristics of the washing process and part of the authentic raw denim appearance. Inspired by the Year of the Horse, this newly designed pair of jeans features a custom two-tone layered leather patch with embossed detailing, showcasing a vivid Western sheriff motif full of character and depth. The fabric construction differs from our previous releases. This time, we use a broken twill weave (also known as crosshatch weave) instead of traditional right-hand twill denim. The surface weave is tighter and exposes less of the weft yarn, giving the denim a noticeably deeper and richer indigo appearance. Another advantage of broken twill construction is that it helps prevent the leg-twist effect commonly found in traditional twill denim, resulting in a cleaner and more stable silhouette over time. 。 The Year of the Horse edition is even heavier than previous releases. After the one-wash process, the finished jeans reach approximately 16oz, yet thanks to our desizing and rinse treatment, the fabric remains noticeably softer and more comfortable than traditional raw denim. This fabric is a new original development by Sauce Zhan, woven on vintage imported shuttle looms into authentic selvedge denim. It features a broken twill construction, with a unique two-tone weft blend of red and brown reactive-dyed yarns, paired with an ultra-deep pure indigo warp. The selvedge ID combines red, blue, and yellow threads, creating a distinctive and beautifully detailed edge. The denim is designed to fade naturally with wear. To make the experience more accessible and comfortable, we performed an official desizing wash in advance, eliminating the need for further shrink-to-fit processing. Compared to untreated raw denim, the fabric feels significantly softer while still retaining its fading potential. A versatile pair of jeans that works equally well for everyday casual wear or for developing rich fade patterns over time. The fit features a mid-to-high rise with a slightly tapered straight-leg silhouette, offering an excellent balance of comfort and shape. Designed with generous room through the hips and thighs, it provides ease of movement without feeling tight, while still maintaining a clean and flattering profile. Unlike traditional five-pocket jeans, the Year of the Horse edition adopts a distinctive slanted pocket design, giving the overall look a unique character. Combined with the fabric’s soft hand feel and slight stretch, the jeans deliver a fit that feels comfortable and close to the body while still creating a slimmer appearance. Our goal was to create a truly versatile “perfect fit” denim that feels good on a wide range of body types and becomes an everyday favorite. The stitching uses a dark-toned thread color, blending subtly into the denim for a refined, understated, and premium look. The newly custom-molded main button is crafted from aged brass with a red rust-inspired finish, featuring an increased side thickness for a more solid and substantial feel. Rich in texture and detail, it reflects the level of craftsmanship and attention put into the design. Paired with a YKK zipper fly, the jeans offer both practicality and durability for everyday wear.
